Account Director / Senior Account Manager – Medical Comms

Full-time, Permanent - Letchworth, Herts, UK

Working on a range of European and global accounts using a range of media and platforms, you would work with us at our offices in Letchworth Garden City. While full-time working is preferred, we will consider part-time applications.

We are looking for someone who is able to work both independently and as part of a team to implement our ingenious campaigns. The individual will require a good understanding of medical strategies and internal audience messaging. With no two days the same, your activities will focus on helping our clients to communicate with their desired audience to the highest of standards.

Main purpose of the role:
• To lead/manage client accounts by taking responsibility for client service and financial delivery. To represent the client internally and represent Prescript externally to the client.
• To be responsible for the management of project processes, ensuring they are effective and efficient with designated accounts.
• To manage projects and deliverables to ensure consistency and alignment, ensuring projects are resourced correctly.
• To identify and win new business together with senior colleagues.


Essential Skills and Experience:
• Strong medical communications background, ideally within an agency setting
• Good project management skills and ability to multi-task across a number of different initiatives
• Good understanding of thought leadership, corporate reputation and the concept of client business development
• Ability to own a project plan and co-ordinate with suppliers to hit deadlines
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential
• Excellent interpersonal skills and collaborative approach to working
• Confident working with senior stakeholders
• Willingness to push the envelope and challenge traditional approaches
• The ability to work in a team and support junior team members

L&D Lead

Reporting to the Prescript Directors, you will lead our L&D function. You will actively contribute to the management of the business through the building of internal relationships, support of management decisions and ownership of processes or special projects. You will actively collaborate with peers across teams to share knowledge, contribute to ingenious thinking, support quality execution, and solve problems, working to continuously develop capabilities across Prescript.
You will act as an ambassador for Prescripts Values, brand and culture internally and externally

Key Responsibilities
• In partnership with the Directors, devise and implement an L&D Strategy that shapes and drives our collective ambition.
• Create and execute strategies that use ingenious thinking to build compelling solution
• Lead innovation within the learning approach and solution
• Ensure the appropriate structures, resources, systems and processes are in place to operate effectively, efficiently and profitably
• Support client projects in the diagnosis of learning and development gaps and the identification, development and implementation of suitable and effective learning solutions
• Manage assigned direct reports ensuring regular performance and development activities occur
• Support the development of Prescript’s learning reputation externally through appropriate publicity and Thought Leadership
• Write compelling thought pieces for social media publications


Experience
• Knowledge of Learning strategies, techniques and instructional design are deep and broad, enabling you to lead world-class learning innovation
• Advanced change management skills with proven success in previous change programs
• Successfully introduced new learning strategies, innovative learning methods and technologies for a highly educated workforce that transformed the employee’s learning experience and increased their success
• Advanced project management capabilities with sophisticated planning and problem-solving skills, demonstrated by successful major program and process management transformations

Studio Manager

Role Overview
As a Studio Manager you will be at the centre of our studio function, managing the daily workload of the team whilst liaising with the rest of the agency as required. You will ensure all briefs are dispatched in the studio according to a designer's skills and strengths. You will play a key role in leading and managing all creative and design as well as the resources and workflows, ensuring all work is delivered promptly and to deadline to the relevant people. You will need to be diplomatic, level-headed and remain calm under pressure, making sure projects are delivered on time and to the very highest quality. You will be a first-class communicator and able to speak to different people at a variety of levels, internally and externally. You will also be enthusiastic and forthcoming with ideas and initiatives to improve every aspect of our studio and team.

Essential Skills and Experience:
• Good project management skills and ability to multi-task across a number of different initiatives simultaneously.
• Significant management experience within a design agency or an in-house team with a broad scope of work (including managing designers/agencies).
• Considerable experience in direct stakeholder/client management
• Exceptional traditional and digital design, copywriting and videography/photography skills.
• The ability to influence, persuade and negotiate, demonstrating gravitas and establishing credibility when giving advice and guidance at all levels of the organisation.
• Evidence of building and maintaining excellent working relationships with multiple partners and stakeholders and acting as a representative at a senior level.
• High degree of digital literacy inclusive of digital and social media content, video production and creating animations.
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic are essential
• Willingness to push the envelope and challenge traditional approaches

You will be an important player in developing and building relationships with clients and be a valued partner in those client-facing activities.

Role Overview
As a Senior Medical Writer, you will be responsible for leading the writing and development of a wide range of materials aimed at diverse audiences and across a wide range of therapy areas and specialisms. You will need to collaborate closely with the creative/design and client services teams, ensure maintenance of the company’s high standards and support the development of more junior writers. Responsibilities and Duties
• Produce clear, concise and accurate copy to the highest scientific and grammatical standards, ensuring materials produced are suitable for the target audience and conform to client specifications
• Research and source relevant materials, analyse and interpret scientific data, and structure an appropriate deliverable
• Demonstrate good attention to detail and apply internal processes consistently
• Proactively manage and monitor own workload and that of other writers assigned to projects where necessary
• Highlight potential issues with budget/project progression to Account Handler, and issues with resourcing to Editorial Lead
• Provide effective briefs to peers in editorial and studio teams and to freelancers
• Monitor work through studio, providing constructive feedback on design concepts, layout, content and branding
• Support Client Services team with proposals and budgets as appropriate and guide accurate estimation of writing time
• Develop and maintain relationships with clients regarding project content. Highlight new/repeat business opportunities to Client Services and attend and present at client meetings if required
• Act as lead writer, with minimal coaching from a more senior writer. Review and be accountable for work by other writers assigned to the same projects
• Critically assess own work and receive constructive feedback from colleagues. Provide support and guidance to other writers
• Seek out learning and development opportunities to improve in-role performance and demonstrate drive to continuously grow.

Qualifications
• University degree or equivalent in life science or medical subject (2:1 or above)
• Experience writing for a broad range of projects across multiple therapy areas
• Ability to apply information on any therapy area with minimal guidance
• Excellent awareness of industry guidelines and best practice and their application
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines
• Proficient in use of Microsoft Office suite, Adobe Acrobat and a variety of additional software and on-line resources: Zinc; Referencing databases; PubMed; Web Science; clinicaltrials.gov; as well as EMA and FDA websites.
